Mass Effect Andromeda is getting closer and closer to reaching our consoles and compatible. The doubts about whether Bioware will have managed to mix well the essence of the saga with the open world will gradually dissipate. As more information we know, and have taken quite a while to start giving it, the more solid the foundation of this Mass Effect.
Two of the pillars that Bioware needed to build steadily are the Tempest and the Nomad; The basic vehicles for our space adventure. With the ship we will go from system in system to know better Andromeda and with the vehicle of terrestrial transport we will investigate the planets.
The Tempest, a new Normandy
We are going to miss her a lot, because she is prettier than Tempest and because on board the Normandy we have hated, loved, fought and saved the world. But all is to do with the new, and Tempest promises to be again, the base of operations of our adventure.
Through its corridors we can chat with the crew, get to know better fellows and invite them to our stateroom if our relationship is going well. As in past deliveries, we will have different decks in which to improve the equipment and where the different companions that we join the crew will be.
It is, undoubtedly, the most classic element of Andromeda since, except for surprise, it will have nothing different with respect to Normandy except for the design, although it maintains certain similar lines. It is a light exploration ship lacking a powerful armament and a heavy shield, which probably will put us back in some other set during the campaign of a player.
The Nomad, much more than the Mako
Although the Mako brought a lot of freshness to Mass Effect 1, and then he was missed, it was not an element that would diversify the way we played. The Mako continued to go through pasillero stages and each X meters appeared enemies. Just like when we went on foot.
The Nomad becomes our vehicle to explore the planets in whatever way we choose. There are no straight lines to follow, when we come to a planet, we explore it as we want. We can go slowly or quickly. Or what is the same, the open world of Mass Effect Andromeda is not going to be a tedious map to explore as it could happen in Dragon Age Inquisition; Going from one place to another will not take us so long.
On the other hand, the Nomad contains a new and very revealing facet about the operation of Mass Effect Andromeda. It is equipped with small mining stations to extract resources that we find as we explore the planets. A very natural way to get resources to improve our equipment, certainly, much better than the one we saw in past installments of the saga.
In addition, we will have the opportunity to customize it with different paintings adapted to the environment of the planets we visit. A very interesting aspect since we will spend a lot of time driving this vehicle, and there is nothing better than giving it a personal touch.
